A half-life is the time used by Brewlytics to estimate how quickly caffeine declines after a drink. Pro lets you configure that assumption and see the resulting curve.

What the model does

For each logged drink, Brewlytics estimates remaining caffeine with an exponential decay model. It then adds the remaining amounts from the drinks in your log to produce an approximate active total at a selected time.

In plain language: the curve starts with the drinks you recorded, falls over time, and lets you compare “now” with a later point such as bedtime.

Configure the assumption in Pro

People can respond differently to caffeine, and the same person may experience different effects in different circumstances. Pro exposes a half-life setting so the calculation is not locked to one hidden assumption.

Changing the value changes the estimate and the chart; it does not measure caffeine in your body or promise a particular sleep outcome.

Use the curve with your own log

Start with accurate timestamps and caffeine amounts. Correct an entry when the drink was logged late, edit the amount when the cup was different, and review the weekly pattern to see whether your routine lines up with the estimates you care about.
